Procurement Tools

Practical calculators and checklists for flash memory buyers. They are planning aids, not a substitute for agreeing the written specification with your supplier — but they make that conversation faster and more specific.

How the three tools fit together

  1. Estimate the capacity first. The capacity estimator turns bitrate, recording hours and retention requirements into a range. Getting this wrong in either direction costs money — too small fails in the field, too large is paid for on every unit.
  2. Turn the range into a specification. The USB specification builder assembles the details a supplier needs: interface, capacity, branding, packaging, quantity and date. The output is a draft RFQ you can send to any supplier and compare like for like.
  3. Verify before you accept. The sample acceptance checklist records what you actually tested on the sample, so the batch is judged against the same rules rather than against memory.

What these tools do not do

They do not quote, and they do not confirm availability. Capacity ranges are planning estimates, speed figures are workload-dependent, and NAND supply moves — a configuration that is available this month may be substituted next month. Anything the tools produce should be confirmed in writing before an order is placed.

For the reasoning behind each one, start with how to choose a flash memory manufacturer and TF card vs USB drive vs UDP module.

Frequently asked questions

Are these tools free to use?

Yes, and no account is needed. They run in the browser and nothing you enter is submitted to us.

Do the results replace a supplier quotation?

No. A capacity estimate or an RFQ draft is the input to a conversation, not an offer. Capacity availability, price and lead time are confirmed in a written quotation.

Can I send the generated RFQ to several suppliers?

That is what it is for. Sending the same document to several suppliers is the fastest way to compare offers on one basis instead of on four different ones.
