Which flash format fits your design
Four formats leave this factory, and the difference between them is mostly mechanical: whether the storage is removable, whether it is sealed inside the product, and who owns the housing. Compare them before you compare prices, because they are not interchangeable.

Manufacturing process
Each unit is built from sourced NAND and a controller solution selected to your host and workload, placed and soldered on our own SMT line, programmed, then capacity-verified with a full write-and-read-back and read/write tested before packing. The same configuration is held across repeat batches.

What fails in the field, and what prevents it
The complaints that reach us about USB drives are rarely about the flash. They are about the shell, the print, the firmware or the box — the parts that were never written into the specification.
Real transfer speed is far below the interface name
A drive can carry a USB 3.0 connector and still write at USB 2.0 rates if the controller or the NAND cannot keep up. Judge a sample by measured throughput on your own files, not by the port.

Some hosts are strict about the controller's reported descriptors, and a firmware rewrite can change behaviour that used to work. Freeze the firmware once the host compatibility is proven.

Print adhesion depends on the shell material, the surface treatment and the ink system together. On metal, engraving survives handling in a way that surface print may not.
