Can I specify which NAND brand goes into my order?

In short

You can request a source. We source silicon from SanDisk, Toshiba, Micron, SK Hynix, Intel and Samsung, and we will state the silicon origin on the quotation rather than leaving it implicit. For some buyers — medical, automotive-adjacent or brand-driven programmes — knowing the die source is part of the specification, and we treat it as a confirmed line item. What we will not do is mark a drive with a brand name it does not carry; the brand on the product is WINTEL or yours, and the silicon source is documented separately in the order, not printed as if we were that NAND maker.

How a silicon request is handled

Stating a source is different from stating a grade. Grade (we use A+ grade) is what we guarantee on behaviour; the brand is where the die came from.

If your programme requires a named source, put it in the specification and we confirm availability against the capacity and quantity you need.

Where a source is unavailable at the capacity you want, we say so in the quotation and propose the nearest alternative rather than substituting silently.

What gets documented

The quotation records the silicon source and the grade. That record is what keeps a repeat batch the same part, and it is what you can check against a batch sample.

Frequently asked questions

Does specifying a brand cost more?

It can, because it removes our ability to switch sources as the spot market moves. The premium is the cost of locking a source, not a markup on the flash itself.

Will the drive say "SanDisk inside"?

No. The product is ours or yours. The NAND source is recorded in the order documentation, not printed on the device as another brand’s mark.
