Do you offer a warranty on flash memory, and what does it cover?

In short

We are liable for what we ship: that the goods match the approved specification, are tested before packing, and are built to the configuration quoted for your order. What we do not do is pass on a consumer warranty that belongs to another company. We are not an authorised reseller of any silicon brand, so we cannot offer, extend or honour a brand warranty on their parts — anyone who does is selling you a document, not a remedy. The remedy for a genuine defect on our side starts with the order it came from, so keep the batch reference and the approved sample together.

What our liability covers

Liability that means nothing is a page of adjectives. These are the specific claims it settles.

  • That the goods match the approved sample and written specification.
  • That the configuration in the quotation is the configuration built.
  • That the goods were tested before packing, and that the test method was stated.
  • That repeat batches stay at the same configuration, or that any change is agreed in writing first.

What we do not do

Saying no to these costs us nothing and prevents the argument later.

  • We do not offer or extend the manufacturer’s consumer warranty on any silicon brand.
  • We do not imply that a part carries a brand endorsement or a brand warranty certificate.
  • We do not certify an industrial-temperature or endurance rating that is not documented in the quotation.
  • We do not treat wear from a workload the specification did not cover as a defect — that is a specification problem, and worth fixing in the next one.

What to keep, so a claim can be settled quickly

Most delay in a defect discussion is not about the defect. It is about not being able to identify which batch or configuration the unit came from.

  • The batch reference from the quotation or packing list.
  • The approved sample, stored as the physical comparison.
  • The written specification, including test method and pass criteria.
  • The test output from your own inspection, so the claim starts from evidence.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a warranty period in years?

The terms that apply to your order are stated on the quotation and the order confirmation. Ask us before you order rather than after — the answer depends on the specification and the workload the part will see.

Can you provide the silicon manufacturer’s warranty?

No. We are not an authorised reseller of any silicon brand, so we cannot supply or honour their warranty. We are liable for what we ship, which is a different and more useful thing to hold us to.

What if a unit fails in the field?

Send the unit, the batch reference and the approved sample. We work from those three things, and what happens next depends on whether the failure is a build defect or a workload the specification did not cover.

Does wear from heavy writing count as a defect?

Not on its own. Endurance is set by the silicon grade and the workload, both of which belong in the specification. If a grade is not right for your write volume, that is a fixable specification problem — and worth correcting before the next order.
